Originated in Chicago. Served in Abuja.
Our Story: A Tale of Two Cities
The Crust, The Culture, and The Connection
The Peel was born out of necessity and from a simple, burning idea: to share a piece of my culture growing up in the inner city of Chicago with the heart of Nigeria.
Growing up in Chicago instilled a deep love for bold, unapologetic flavors, the warmth of neighborhood pizzerias, and an unshakeable belief that great food has a unique power to bring people together.
Bringing that rich tradition across the Atlantic to Abuja is our way of honoring exactly where we come from, while passionately celebrating where we are today. We saw a gap in the pizza industry, and we built The Peel to fill it with authenticity, flavor, and soul.
More Than Just Pizza
But if you look closely, you will see that The Peel is about so much more than what is baking in our ovens.
Our core vision is to create tangible, life-changing opportunities for young people who need one thing: someone to believe in them.
Through structured mentorship, hands-on job training, and future cultural exchange experiences, our mission is to open doors that have historically been shut for at-risk youth in both Nigeria and the United States.
“Food has the power to connect cultures, build friendships, and create opportunities that change lives."
The Ultimate Dream
We dream of a day when a young person from the inner city of Chicago, someone who has never had the chance to travel beyond their own neighborhood block, can stand proudly under the sky in Abuja.
We dream of a day when a young person from Nigeria can stand alongside them and experience firsthand that the world is big enough for all of us to achieve our wildest dreams.
Every single pizza we stretch, top, and serve is one deliberate step toward making that global vision a reality.
Thank you for pulling up a chair, sharing a slice, and joining us on this incredible journey.
